Day 2 – Trogir – Salona – Klis Fortress

Trogir, the city with 2300 years of tradition, is a remarkable example of an urban island settlement from the Hellenistic period. In the first-century Trogir became the Roman municipality ‘Tragurium’, and joined Salona, the center of the Roman province of Dalmatia. Upon the fall of the Roman Empire, Trogir has become an independent town.

It has beautiful Romanesque churches which are complemented by the outstanding Renaissance and Baroque buildings from the Venetian period, and in 1997 UNESCO acknowledged Trogir as a World Cultural Heritage.

Salona, or Solin, was an administrative hub of Ancient Rome, the capital of Dalmatia, and is believed to have been the birthplace of Emperor Diocletian, under whom it flourished. An important city, Salona is well-preserved and well-signed.

Access is along the top of the defensive wall giving a superb overview of the ruins. Apart from the remains of the city wall, there are several basilicas, an amphitheater, entry gates, the forum, the theatre, and baths. Salona has a number of very early churches, including an early baptistery built by Bishop Honorius in the 6th century.

The Klis Fortress is a medieval fortress situated above a village bearing the same name, near the city of Split, in central Dalmatia, Croatia. From its origin as a small stronghold built by the ancient Illyrian tribe Dalmatae, becoming a royal castle that was the seat of many Croatian kings, to its final development as a large fortress during the Ottoman wars in Europe, Klis Fortress has guarded the frontier, being lost and re-conquered several times throughout its more-than-two-thousand-year-long history.

Due to its location on a pass that separates the mountains Mosor and Kozjak, the fortress served as a major source of defense in Dalmatia, especially against the Ottoman advance, and has been a key crossroad between the Mediterranean belt and the Balkan rear.

Day 3 – Split, Cooking Class, and Wine Tasting

The story of Split is already 17 centuries old, dating to the time the Roman Emperor Diocletian decided to build his Palace right on the peninsula near the great Roman city of Salona, where he wanted to spend the last years of his life. During these 1700 years, the Palace slowly turned into a city, which to this day lures with its rich tradition, glorious history, and beauty of its natural and cultural heritage.

Diocletian Palace and the entire historical core of Split have been on the World Heritage UNESCO list ever since 1979, not only for the extraordinary preservation of the Palace but also because of the Palace and its city (or the city and its Palace, if you like) continue to live a full life.

All historical layers from old Rome and the middle ages to today are still visible and alive in this structure. A walk through the ancient city takes you through time, along with the great examples of ancient architecture like Peristyle, the middle-aged Romanesque Church and Gothic Palace, Renaissance portals of the noblemen’s houses, Baroque facades, and modern architecture superbly merged in the rich heritage

Day 4 – Vis (Blue cave) – Hvar (Green Cave, Paklini Islands)

Get ready for the day on the sea. Today we will take you on a speedboat tour to visit all the hidden gems of Croatia. This unique day on the sea starts with the Green and Blue caves followed includes Vis and the Pakleni islands! We'll begin by meandering between Hvar and the islets of Ravnik and Biševo. First, we will visit the Green Cave where you swim inside.

Then we'll continue towards cove Stiniva, where you can enjoy a unique swim. After Stiniva we will go to Blue Cave, whose ethereal silvery blue color is created by the sun as it bathes the inside of the cave through an opening in the roof and is reflected back by the sandy surface below.

Our trip continues to the island of Vis and the authentic fishing village Komiža. Then we continue at one of the archipelago's most popular bays, Vinogradišce at Palmižana, where you can have a seaside lunch at some of the best restaurants in Croatia. After lunch, you can have free time to swim.

Hvar, the island in the Adriatic Sea, is the longest and the sunniest Croatian island and one of the most beautiful islands in the world.

The island of Hvar is famous for its pleasant Mediterranean climate. The island is characterized by gentle winters, warm summers, and many hours of sunshine (2,718 hours a year). The island of Hvar was populated already in prehistoric times and later inhabited by the Illyrians, who came into conflict with the Greek colonizers in the 4th century BC.

Day 5 – Ston – Arboretum Trsteno – Dubrovnik

Today we will leave Hvar island and come to the Split port where you will be picked up for a transfer to Dubrovnik.

On our way to Dubrovnik, we will stop in a beautiful little place called Ston where we will have an oyster tasting, afterward we will visit the famous Arboretum.

In the late afternoon hours, we will come to Dubrovnik where we will take you for a private walking tour of the old town.

The 'Pearl of the Adriatic', situated on the Dalmatian coast, became an important Mediterranean sea power from the 13th century onwards. Although severely damaged by an earthquake in 1667, Dubrovnik managed to preserve its beautiful Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque churches, monasteries, palaces, and fountains. Damaged again in the 1990s by armed conflict, it is now the focus of a major restoration program coordinated by UNESCO.

Day 6 – Dubrovnik – Elafiti islands

The Elaphiti Islands, or the Elaphites, is a small archipelago consisting of several islands stretching northwest of Dubrovnik, in the Adriatic sea.

The islands attract large numbers of tourists during the summer tourist season due to the Mediterranean and subtropical vegetation, centuries-old woods of pine and carob, olive groves and gardens filled with oranges and lemons, the beautiful beaches, early medieval churches, as well as numerous summer residences of the plebeians of the Dubrovnik Republic times.
